May family photos or prom photos be taken on the Allandale grounds? What about professional photography sessions?
All photo sessions of any length and type on the grounds must be scheduled in advance. Please call 423-229-9422 for prices and scheduling. Photography fees support the Mansion and grounds.
Generally, photo sessions are only allowed Monday – Thursday when other events have not been scheduled. Allandale Mansion and Barns are highly popular wedding and event locations, and photography is not allowed when the facilities have been booked for private events.
Is fishing allowed in the Allandale ponds? Are the ponds stocked?
Yes! Fishing is allowed Monday – Thursday during daylight hours, as long as no other events are scheduled. A Tennessee fishing license is required. The ponds are not stocked. Please dispose of all trash in provided receptacles. Please call 423-229-9422 for information.
When are tours of the facility available?
Tours are available by appointment only. Our normal office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Tours may be scheduled by calling 423-229-9422
May tents be used at Allandale?
Tents may be used in certain locations on the Allandale grounds. A tent permit from the City of Kingsport Building Inspector’s office is required. Please call 423-229-9422 for additional information.
May sparklers, sky lanterns, or fireworks be used on the Allandale grounds?
No, these items are strictly prohibited per the Kingsport Fire Department. For more information on Allandale’s guidelines, click here.

May alcohol be served at events?
Yes, however, insurance coverage is required. Call 423-229-9422 for more information.
May facilities be rented for multiple days?
Yes, you may rent a facility for multiple days.
Does Allandale have a wedding coordinator?
No, Allandale does not have an onsite wedding coordinator.
What is Allandale’s cancellation policy?
Rentals must be cancelled a minimum of one hundred and twenty (120) days prior to the agreed upon rental date. A written request must be sent to Allandale to initiate the cancellation, and it is the renter’s responsibility to ensure a timely cancellation.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Cash, personal checks, money orders, and most major credit/debit cards are accepted. Allandale is unable to accept credit/debit card payments by phone. Please call ahead for in-person payments, and appointments may be scheduled by calling 423-229-9422.
How many hours are allotted with a facility rental?
Our basic rental is for a seven (7) hour time block. Placement of the seven hours is determined by the renter and must be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 11:00 PM. Additional time may be rented in advance.
Rentals by the hour open for smaller groups at 60 days out from the desired date.
May a rehearsal be held the day before a wedding at Allandale?
Short rehearsals may be booked on available dates starting 30 days out from the desired date.

Does Allandale allow outside catering?
Yes. Allandale does not provide catering services, and it is up to the renter to secure the services of an outside caterer.
Do linens, silverware, glassware, etc. come with the rental?
No. It is up to the renter to obtain the linens, silverware, glassware, and any other items needed for the rental.
What time of year may the Allandale facilities be rented?
The Mansion may be rented year-round.
The Barn and Pavilion may be rented April – October only.
Which venues have heat and air conditioning?
The Mansion is the only facility with heat and air conditioning.
The Barn and Pavilion do not have either heat or air conditioning.
Are pets allowed on the Allandale grounds?
Yes, the grounds are pet-friendly but leash laws do apply. Only service animals are allowed inside the buildings (Allandale Mansion, Harvey’s Barn, Brooks’ Pavilion).

When may the picnic tables at Harvey’s Barn be used?
General use of the picnic area is allowed when other events are not scheduled at Allandale.

Do the Allandale facilities have restrooms?
Yes, there is a restroom available at each rental facility.
How do I know what items are prohibited during my rental?

Does Allandale have a sound system?
No, renters will need to provide their own sound.
Is Allandale Mansion hiring?
