Christmas at Allandale

Several exciting events will be happening at the Mansion in December:

December 7-8: Christmas Tours at Allandale ($5 per person ages 12 and over)

Join us for the annual Christmas tours at Allandale Mansion! Decorated by volunteers from Friends of Allandale, you’re in for a treat as you take a self-guided tour through this gorgeous home built in 1953 by Harvey Brooks. Doors will open at 1:00 PM both days. Please be sure to allow yourself enough time to explore the Mansion. Cookies and cider will be served in the Mansion’s dining room for you to enjoy at the conclusion of your tour while supplies last. For the first time in 2024, tickets are available for advance purchase online. 

We will have Harpist Martha Painter with Harpstrings Studio on Saturday from 1-3 PM, and Santa on Sunday from 2-4.

December 12: Food Truck Rally by EZ Squeezy Lemonade

Food trucks, snow machines, a life size snow globe, and Santa Claus will be onsite courtesy of EZ Squeezy Lemonade and their food truck friends. We will have the Mansion open for tours during this event for $5 per person (ages 12 and over, no charge for those under 12). Tickets can be purchased online for this tour date as well. 

December 19: Holiday Teas at Allandale ($25 per child)

Wear your favorite holiday outfit! We will have fruit “tea” and snacks, make an ornament craft, participate in a scavenger hunt, and guests will have the opportunity to tour the Mansion and take photos. Advance registration required. 

Jeeps on the Lawn

Kingsport Parks and Recreation is hosting its first annual Jeep Show (Jeeps On The Lawn) at Allandale Mansion on Sunday, October 27 from  1 PM – 4 PM. Each Jeep registered will be “ducked” and awards will be given for Best In Show/Best Custom.

Game Days at Allandale

Come out to Allandale Mansion for our monthly game days! Bring your own games to play or browse our collection. Bring a friend or come ready to meet up with other players! Feel free to bring a snack to enjoy.

90s Craft Night September 10

Oh snap! You won’t want to miss out on this fun 90’s themed craft night at Allandale Mansion.
Come enjoy some trivia while you spark creativity with making fuse bead creations, friendship bracelets, and shrinky dinks – or just pick up some coloring pages and enjoy the company.

Supplies are included for your use for the duration of the event, and staff will be on hand to help with the hot parts of this craft.

Yoga Dance at Allandale

Join us for yoga at the Brooks’ Pavilion! We’re pleased to offer two more sessions of this class with Monica Case-Harman, Nationally Certified (NYA) in Yoga Therapy for Musicians, Dancers, and Athletes.

 

June 9: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

June 28: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

 

The yoga dance technique incorporates elements of dance (Latin and some ballet) with exercise-science based yoga. This class will be a full-body workout to include flexion and extension of the spine, upper body, core and legs. As is typical with yoga strength work, eccentric and isometric exercises will be emphasized. The last 15-20 minutes of the session will be restorative in nature and mostly focused on mat work. Concluding with a relaxation period, you will then be able to rest. The cost is $8. Please bring your own mat and water. We look forward to seeing you!

Easter Egg Rolling

You’re invited to the annual Easter Egg Rolling at Allandale Mansion!
This FREE event is for ages 10 and under, and is being done in partnership with The Assembly at Kingsport.
The Mansion is not open for tours during Easter Egg Rolling.
Please preregister, so we can anticipate attendance numbers, using your CivicRec account. 

Valentine’s Day Afternoon Social

Come out to the Allandale Mansion and play card games while enjoying punch and popcorn. Card decks and game instructions will be provided, players will play games of their choice like hearts or even Go Fish! There is no cost, but participants are asked to preregister so organizers can anticipate attendance numbers.

2024 Mardi Gras Murder Mystery

2023 Garden Party at Allandale

Allandale Mansion will hold a Spring Garden Party later this month. The parties will be held on two days – May 30 and May 31 – from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 and advance registration is required. The event is recommended for ages 10 and under and guests are encouraged to wear their best spring outfit.

During the event, guests will make an artificial flower arrangement to take home, have a snack, and have opportunities for photos and exploration of the Mansion.

An adult must remain with the child during the event. There is no ticket charge for the accompanying adult, but they will not receive a snack nor do a craft.
